SaginALL Youth Ambassadors Experience Art & Influence Day!
Our Saginaw County Youth Ambassadors Cohort 3 had an incredible day exploring arts and influence yesterday as they visited the Temple Theater, the Saginaw Art Museum, the Japanese Cultural Center, Tea House & Gardens, and concluded their day at the Museum of Black History! They immersed themselves in the rich and diverse art culture that Saginaw County has to offer while exploring the power of how art can influence individuals and the community! A huge thank you to our community partners who made this day possible, Cohort 3 Coach Sharmee Gloss and their tour guide, business partnerships consultant Ann Marie Batkoski, for making this an inspiring day for our students! #SaginALL #ArtAndInfluence #studentleaders #saginawcounty

Our CTE team meets regularly for an opportunity to strategize ongoing projects for the remainder of the school year while reflecting on our achievements thus far. They continue to strive for and provide career and technical education excellence! #CTEworks #CTEstrong

There will be no school on Friday, March 29, 2024, for GLBEC students. School will resume on Monday, April 1, 2024.

What a delightful surprise today at yesterday's career Awareness and exploration event hosted by the Michigan Regional Council of Millwrights and Carpenters at Heritage High School!
Running into former students who attended Saginaw Career Complex and are now thriving as carpenters with Local 706 was an absolute joy! Both Evan and Jeremy attended SCC a couple of years ago in the Buiding Construction program. Evan graduated from Valley Lutheran, and Jeremy graduated from Chesaning High School.
Both are now working in their chosen career paths and are sharing their success stories with high school students in the region and state. Events like this truly showcase the endless possibilities that lie ahead for students who are involved in CTE programs. Jeremy stated, "I was able to jump ahead of others who applied because of the certifications and experience I obtained from SCC."
Good things are happening in CTE! Way to go!

History Day with the SagiNOW Youth Ambassadors Cohort 3 (Class of 2025):
Our incredible Youth Ambassadors had a blast exploring the rich heritage of Saginaw County yesterday as they took a journey through The Castle Museum of Saginaw County. From riveting exhibits to hidden treasures, they absorbed it all! But the adventure didn't stop there! They also toured the Hoyt Public Library, home to a remarkable genealogy department and some ghostly hauntings. The ambassadors dove into their family histories and combed old yearbooks for photos of their parents and other family members. After their enriching tours, the Ambassadors had an afternoon of brainstorming as they geared up for their 3rd-year projects happening next school year.
Thank you to our fantastic partners and their staff for sharing their expertise with the next generation! We couldn't do it without you! A special kudos to Sharmee Gloss, Saginaw ISD Career Navigator, and Ann Marie Batkoski, Business Partnerships Consultant, for creating such a fabulous day! #cteworks #saginawcountycte

Last night marked the grand finale of our Healthcare Explorers program, and what an adventure it's been! Our eager explorers embarked on a journey through the corridors of Great Lakes Bay Health Center's Downtown location, and oh boy, was it an eye-opener.
They were able to get inside and see the inner workings of the Mobile Medical Van, which is equipped to bring healthcare right to the doorstep of those in need. Talk about healthcare on the move! The Optometry Department showed off its funky frames and cutting-edge technology while our explorers got a glimpse of how vision care is done with style and precision. Who knew eye exams could be so cool?
Last but definitely not least, they delved into a world of support, compassion, and healing. It's incredible to see how GLBHC prioritizes mental well-being, making a real difference in people's lives.
Huge thanks to Great Lakes Bay Health Center for opening their doors and minds to our eager younger learners. Until next time, keep exploring and keep inspiring! #cteworks #ctestrong #careerexploration
