Current Heritage/SCC students were "fired up" to talk about their experiences about attending the Saginaw Career Complex to the 10th graders at Heritage High School on Thursday last week. They shared why they chose to attend SCC and what a typical day looks like. All three students spoke with confidence and a passion for their respective programs. Chloe, a senior, is in the Teacher Academy and participates in the CTE Early Middle College. Kyleigh Torrez, senior, is in the Law & Public Safety program and works at Saginaw County 911 as part of a new registered apprenticeship. Haleigh is a junior and is attending SCC for the first time in the welding program, and says she loves SCC's cinnamon rolls! #CTEworks #CTEstrong

Or maybe you are a little bit of all of them! “Blue” characteristics: warm, sincere, communicative; the romantics. “Green” characteristics: analytical, investigative, calm; the problem solvers. “Gold” characteristics: organized, prepared, traditional; the rule-followers. “Orange” characteristics: spontaneous, generous, optimistic; the performers. #cteworks #ctestrong #youthambassadors

Youth Ambassadors Cohort 3 - Education Day! Today, our Cohort 3 youth ambassadors celebrated education day by visiting Local 85 Plumbers, Steamfitters, & HVAC-R Techs, Saginaw Valley State University, and Delta College. Our ambassadors learned about opportunities in the skilled trades and healthcare industries. There were a lot of hands-on opportunities for them to really understand each program we visited. There is a lot of transformative work being done in education and the trades. The extraordinary impact of these institutions in our community and the dedicated individuals behind them are helping to shape and empower the next generation. Today, our Youth Ambassadors were inspired for a brighter tomorrow. #SaginawCountyCTE

It's that time of year again when our CTE teams visit 10th graders at all the local high schools in Saginaw County to talk about their opportunity to attend the Saginaw Career Complex as juniors for the next school year! Here, we have Mr. Barlow speaking to students at St. Charles with Mrs. Hart, St. Charles Academic, College & Career Advisor. Students were shown videos of various programs and learned more about what they needed to do to apply to SCC. Special thanks to Elizabeth (SCC Entrepreneurship student) and Carter (Animal & Ag Science student), who talked about why they chose to attend the Saginaw Career Complex and what they enjoy most.
